The Bridge to Purpose
Do you love work?
I mean truly love your work. Where you wake up in the morning, excited to take on the day and ready to face the many challenges with vigor and passion? The fact is that about 75% of us do not. This is a scary trend and we need to work together to change this statistic.
When workers are disengaged, they lack purpose and perspective on success. Often, they run after an illusion of success that is adopted through worldly standards or from a deeply rooted influence from their past. The bottom line is this: you can't find purpose if you are chasing after success myths. Finding work that aligns with your purpose and unique definition of success is essential for a joy-filled life.
We've been blessed to learn from real life situations as we support and offer assistance to others on their journey to become more self-aware about their unique purpose. Based on these stories, we've compiled the lessons about what true success is and how to find it.
We know these lessons and stories will illuminate and build the bridge between success myths and finding purpose! The Purpose Promise presents our blog, The Bridge to Purpose.
A Meaningful Journey is Not Found Alone
Patel feels like he is conquering life at home and work….but he knows he can’t do this alone anymore. It’s a myth that we're supposed to do it on our own. Do it with our gifts. Do it by continuing to push on because we're capable and competent.
Purpose is Finding Greener Grass
To an outsider, there should be no reason why any thought of changing jobs would cross Antonia’s mind. But here she was. Antonia could picture the next 15 years of success with this company! At the same time, she wondered if the grass was greener somewhere else.

Purpose is Gaining Comfort
That cozy corner office. Having enough money to retire early. Being able to accomplish work with your eyes closed. There is nothing wrong with these ambitions, but is it possible that good could be the enemy of great?
Purpose is a Destination
We have all heard it said in one way or another… Life is not about a destination, rather the journey. Most of us would agree with that; however, most of us subliminally believe that success is a destination.
Success is Limited By Our Past
Most workers caught in the rat race hold limiting beliefs that dictate their success. Our minds create limiting beliefs based on our past. The consciousness of these beliefs is imperative to find Purpose and Purposeful employment.
Success is Performance
As I started my career, I was a striver. I hit the nail, and I hit it hard. It led to success, in the eyes of many onlookers, and in the standards of the world, but I awoke one day to realize I had performed well at work but not with the people I loved the most.
Success is Hitting My Numbers
The treadmill of disengagement is fueled by the mindset that we are successful and on purpose when we hit our numbers. Real purpose is birthed from the internal confidence in our performance; not those others put on us.
Success is STABILITY
Is obtaining stability still part of the American Dream? Of course, but finding it has dramatically changed. The American Dream has meant different things to different people throughout history.
Success is Accumulating Wealth
Do you spend a lot of time worrying about how much money you need? At the root of the most midlife crisis lies the dedication of obtaining success. Once a person receives what they set out to accumulate as success, they don’t find it to be fulfilling.
Success is Having Status
Damon reflected on his career journey, having worked for the same company half of his life. He was proud of the 60+hours he worked a week. "I've become who I am by working hard and moving up the ladder," he said confidently.
Success is Utilizing my Credentials
